A mad passion as a young girl for her beloved AFL footy team, Geelong, meant an early introduction to statistics for Angela. Each week during winter she would avidly check player possessions in The Age newspaper.
Although born in Tasmania, the family moved to Melbourne when she was only three and, in pre-Internet days, analysing newspaper football data became a favourite pastime.
Completing a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2007 at the Australian Catholic University, with a major in Psychology including a statistics component, only added to her statistical skills. Angela began her marketing journey the following year working for Sensis in Melbourne, helping businesses monitor responses to their Yellow Pages ads. Thirteen years on, it feels like a scene from Jurassic Park!
It wasn’t long before she moved into Sensis online department – where her penchant for monitoring online conversions continued to expand.
In 2010, Angela transferred with the company to Perth, and underwent constant training in systems and programs.
By this time, the online world had stormed to the forefront of business consciousness. A move the following year to Sensis competitor ReachLocal was the beginning of a love affair with SEM and Google Ads campaign optimisation, along with business SEO.
In her spare time, Angela also completed a post graduate degree in Counselling.
Of major significance to her current lifestyle was meeting a man from Margaret River who initially moved to Perth so they could be together. However, in 2014 they decided to make Margaret River their permanent home and now also have two young children.
Angela’s desire is to help small and medium businesses grow through various marketing strategies, including SEO set up and management, Google Ads and Social Media campaigns.
Of course, it is not all work for Angela, and she has plenty of hobbies and other passions. At the forefront is her art – and to that extent she has been involved over the past few years in conducting life drawing classes and has been quite successful in major Margaret River art exhibitions. Other favourites include hiking, swimming, yoga, playing piano and guitar, and singing.
